"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek is responding to the controversy surrounding a contestant who appeared on the show's Kids Week competition. Eighth-grader Thomas Hurley misspelled the word "emancipation" in his final Jeopardy answer and the judges said he got the answer wrong. Trebek says he "must be getting thin-skinned" in his old age, and reiterates the decision was made by the judges, not him. Hurley ended up coming in second and did win two-thousand dollars, but said he felt "cheated" by the show. The "Los Angeles Times" says viewers have swamped Jeopardy's Facebook page with complaints.
