What is your super food for the Super Bowl? If it's chicken wings, then consider it a touchdown. Americans will eat more than one-billion chicken wings during the big game.
One-point-two-three billion -- that's apparently the number of chicken wings Americans will eat this Sunday while watching the Super Bowl. As football fans watch the San Francisco 49ers battle the Baltimore Ravens, they'll collectively consume enough wings to stretch from California to Maryland when laid end-to-end, according to this year's National Chicken Council poll. The survey, which was conducted by Harris Interactive, also determined a winner in condiments. Fifty-seven-percent said they prefer ranch dressing, while 35-percent would rather go with bleu cheese dressing. The bleu-cheese lovers are significantly concentrated in the Northeast region of the country, while ranch is particularly popular in the Midwest. Chicken wing consumption is actually expected to be slightly down this year compared to 2012 -- but only by one percent.
