A 63-year old Alaska man is facing charges of driving under the influence after allegedly getting behind the "wheel" of a motorized shopping cart. According to the "Fairbanks Daily News-Miner," an employee at a Fairbanks Fred Meyer grocery store called police to report that Merrill Keith Moses was intoxicated and maneuvering the shopping cart into traffic in the parking lot. The Fairbanks Police Department says that when an officer arrived on the scene an employee was grabbing onto the handlebars of the cart "to keep the suspect from driving any further." A preliminary breath test allegedly showed that Moses had a breath-alcohol content of point-310, nearly four times the legal limit of point-zero-eight. He later refused an official breath test and was charged with refusing to submit to a chemical breath test as well as DUI. Moses also faces third degree theft charges for not paying for boxes of cake and cookie mix.
