Many parents with smartphones and tablets are finding that the gadgets help their children behave. According to a poll from CouponCodes4u.com, 58-percent of parents said they use technology to keep their kids occupied at least twice a week. Respondents had at least one child between the ages of two and 13. A quarter of parents said that they only handed a gadget off to their kid to play with under special circumstances, and that they used the devices to keep their child entertained during activities that they find boring, like traveling or family functions. But 15-percent of the parents surveyed said they would never use technology as a babysitting substitute. About half said their reason was that they didn't want their kids spending time on the Internet without supervision.
