A new survey has found that physical appearances may be more important to Americans than being debt-free. According to the poll conducted by Credit Karma, seven out of ten U.S. adults said they would rather keep their current debt than gain 25 pounds. Women in debt don't seem to care about gaining weight as much as their male counterparts. Thirty-eight percent of women said their weight is more important to them than their finances, compared to 49 percent of men. The results however turned out differently when respondents were faced with the possibility of having to file for bankruptcy. Sixty-two percent said they would rather be obese than have to deal with going bankrupt.
