Again no run support but the best pitcher in baseball wins anyway. Jesus Montero's solo homer in the seventh inning snapped a 1-all tie as the Mariners beat the Pirates 2-1 at PNC Park. Felix Hernandez allowed just six hits and one run over eight innings to improve to 5-and-2 with the win. Tom Wilhelmsen pitched the ninth for his ninth save as Seattle earned a split of the two-game Interleague series. I still am struggling with The King's neck tattoo by the way.
>>Mariners Draw A's Next
Following the game in Pittsburgh, the Mariners returned home where they get a day off today. The M's open a three-game series against the AL West rival Oakland A's on Friday night. Seattle is 16-and-19 on the season and trails the A's by two games for second place in the division.
>>Seahawks' Hill Avoids Felony Charge
"The Seattle Times" reports that the King Country Prosecutor's Office did not find sufficient cause to charge Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill with a felony yesterday. Hill was arrested in January on domestic violence allegations. The case goes to the Issaquah city prosecutor, who will decide of Hill will be charged with a misdemeanor. Hill has spent the last eight seasons with the Seahawks but has yet to be signed to a contract.
CLAY THOMPSON!!! The former Coug went for a career high 34 points. Thompson shot 8-of-9 from 3-point range, falling one shy the NBA postseason record, and totaled 14 rebounds, while Stephen Curry chipped in 22 points in a rare supporting role. If you don't like the NBA. Let me challenge you to at least watch this series. IT'S ACTUAL BASKETBALL. They, like, run plays and everything! Every series by the way is tied at 1 game a piece. (Go Sonics!)
