>>Padres Pound Mariners
After crushing the Padres, The Mariners felt bad and allowed SD to return the favor. Hey it's how we are in the PNW. SOFT. The Mariners suffered a 6-1 loss to the Padres at Safeco Field last night. Jesus Sucre smacked a sac-fly in the second inning for the Mariners, who have dropped 9-of-11. Brandon Maurer was lit up for six runs, five earned, in less than six innings to fall to 2-and-7. The teams will meet in San Diego at 7:10 tonight.
>>Sale Of Kings Complete
In case there was anyone out there who still cared. The sale of the Sacramento Kings to an investment group headed by Vivek Ranadive was unanimously approved Tuesday by the NBA's Board of Governors. There was a competing bid from a partnership that would have moved the club to Seattle, but NBA owners voted to keep the team in Sacramento.
>>Seahawks Waive McCoy
I guess you can't get hurt on this year's team. The Seahawks waived/injured tight end Anthony McCoy yesterday. If he clears waivers, McCoy will be placed on injured reserve. McCoy had surgery to repair a torn achilles less than a week ago. He had 18 catches for 291 yards and three touchdowns last season.
In last night's Spokane Softball opener for Team Wapiti/Waddells Pub, (hey it's tought these days. We need two sponsors to cover the costs now. You would think with the money all these teams are spending we could have the stinkin consession stand open!) we blew the 8-5 lead in the 7th and lost 10-8. Guess I know how the Mariners feel. Season record 0-1.
