Smoak going on the DL isn't that big of a deal. It's hard to even know when he is in the lineup because he and seldom produces. Though his .240 average is the best of his major league career. The Mariners had to make a roster move to get Sunday's starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman onto the active roster for him to pitch in Minnesota. They placed first baseman Justin Smoak on the 15-day disabled list. Smoak has a right oblique strain he injured on May 25th. And PS - good move on bringing Bonderman up. Josh Willingham belted a two-run homer and knocked in three as the Twins blanked the Mariners 10-0 in the rubber match of a weekend series at Target Field. Kendrys Morales had two of the five hits for the M's, who have dropped four-of-six. Jeremy Bonderman, making his first start since October 1, 2010 with Detroit, was rocked for seven runs in less than five frames to suffer the loss. Seattle opens 10-game homestand tonight at Safeco Field.

Eleventh-seeded Washington was eliminated from the Women's College World Series last night in a 6-2 loss to top-seeded Oklahoma. The Lady Huskies had beaten Michigan to advance that far. Oklahoma advances to play Tennessee in the championship series.
