>>Another Zag in the NBA
Kelly Olynyk already knows the business that the NBA is. He became the fifth Gonzaga player to be picked in the first round of the NBA Draft Thursday. And has officially been with two teams on paper.
Olynyk, the 2013 WCC Player of the Year, was drafted No. 13 by the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas then dealt the 7-footer to Boston for the No. 16 pick and two future draft picks.
Olynyk averaged 17.8 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 63 percent from the field while leading Gonzaga to a 32-3 season.
Olynyk would join a team with no coach that is attempting to trade its two biggest stars, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, to the Brooklyn Nets in a deal that would signal a major rebuilding for the squad that won the 2008 NBA title.
Before Olynyk, Gonzaga's most recent first round pick was Austin Daye, who went to the Pistons 15th overall in 2009.
Also hoping to hear their name called by an NBA franchise are Elias Harris and Washington State's Brock Motum.
