As I write this Zach Johnson is 6-under par and has a two-shot lead in the first round of the British Open in Scotland. Johnson is still on the course at Muirfield, while Rafael Cabrera-Bello is the leader in the clubhouse after carding a 4-under
67. The Tiger countdown is on as he tees off in this hour. (6:45 a.m. PT) Sorry ut I'm still a huge fan. This is my second favorite of the majors. The Masters being my first. I imagine that golf courses fill up even more this weekend as many of us get that quick thought that we can play some of this miracle shots we watch on TV.

>>Hall of Famer gets deal
Stanford University has announced a long-term agreement with Hall of Fame women's basketball coach Tara VanDerveer. I have interview Tara and broadcast several of her games. She is a class act once you get through the stealthy competative look on the sideliines. The school made the announcement Wednesday evening, but gave no other details. The 60-year-old VanDerveer, who
was enshrined into the Hall of Fame in 2011, has won a pair of NCAA championships with the Cardinal in 1990 and 1992. She's been the coach at Stanford since the 1985-86 season and has reached ten Final Fours. Her run of
five straight Final Four appearances was stopped this past season when Stanford was upset by Georgia in the Sweet 16.
